What is Autoimmune
Your immune system is your defense against invaders. Imagine your immune system as an army that must clearly distinguish friend from foe. Autoimmunity occurs when your immune system gets confused and your own tissue gets caught in friendly crossfire. Another way to think about this is your body is always fighting something, whether it’s battling infections, toxins, allergens, or a response to stress. Sometimes, your immune army redirects its hostile attack against you. Your joints, brain, digestion, reproductive organs, skin, and sometimes your whole body become casualties. In order to end the war you need to strengthen and support your immune system and you're the only one who is equipped to do it.
l use an integrative approach, which means I look at the body as a whole, I believe that the health of one system impacts the health and function of the other. Instead of focusing on one disease symptom, I focus on supporting and strengthening the immune system allowing it to rest which means a decrease in inflammation, creating peace within your body allowing it to function effectively.
